Nicola Quilter

  • Nicola Quilter
Nicola was born in the UK but moved to Australia at age 2. She wrote and recorded her first song at just 12 years old.

Singing and acting her way through her formative years, Nicola developed a raw talent for performance art. She auditioned and gained entry as an actor to the prestigious Victorian College of Arts (VCA).

Nicola is known for her involvement in a number of philanthropic events and organizations. She wrote a song for the country of East Timor called "Cry Freedom" - which became the single for a compilation with many Australian bands including Midnight Oil, Painter's and Docker's, Crowded House and Archie Roche. She organized a 3 day benefit concert to raise money for the children of East Timor and rebuild schools there. Nicola is currently working on a project to build a community centre in Western Sahara.

Nicola is a noted actress on camera as well as on stage. She took on a resident role for the Australian primetime drama - Home and Away. She also received the 'World Cherry Tree Award' for her work in Craig Sherborne's The Ones out of Town and has been privileged to work with legendary directors like the late Richard Wherret (The Crucible). Nicola was offered a contract in London to do pantomime and took on the role as Cinderella.

In addition to Nicola's accredited performing history, Nicola has written, recorded and produced three original albums to date. She is currently in the process of completing her fourth and has extended her resume by taking on sitcom writing.

A natural artist, Nicola redefines every role that comes her way. She has returned to her native UK after a number of years in Australia to continue with her acting and singing career.
